While our influences range far and wide, the one thing uniting us above all is our love for Soundsystem music and vinyl. Our mission is to provide a platform for great artists to get the recognition they deserve – and while we maintain a heavy focus on the original Dubstep sonics, we strive to showcase music that is innovative and refreshing, within the realms of 140. All that being said – we usually prefer to let the music do most of the talking, so listening to our Releases will probably be our best introduction.
Subaltern is a truly international label: Originally founded 2013 in South London by Mentha and Jobanti – and still firmly rooted in the UK – we now operate the label out of our headquarters in Berlin, Bristol and Hamburg.
